As a group of volunteers, advertising our activities in several different forums, we can use our resources more effectively than moderating and responding to all posts.
There are plenty of places where readers can and should debate the issues.

We are a group of volunteers, promoting our activities in several different forums. We simply don’t have the resources to moderate and respond to comments in so many places.
There are lots of forums you can and should debate the issues. But our listings site is not one of them.
